The following reviews were posted at the Harmony-Central site by players who have used The ED combo amp. Customer Testimonials
Dear Ed. ...no problems, and it sounded great
through the in-ears! Actually the first time my guitar has ever sounded
really good in the in-ears! And the sound guys were floored, the band
was floored and because they loved the tone so much they worked some
extra solos in for me! That's the first time that's ever happened! In terms of my amp, let's just say I did a
hired-gun gig on a Thursday with the ED. The following week I did the
same gig, same band, same room, same tunes with a Boogie Studio 22. A
musician I respect that was at both shows told me my tone was MUCH
better the first week. Independent, unsolicited affirmation. (Don't ask
me why I used the Boogie the second week. It was probably closer to the
door.)
Just a quick note to say that I love the amp - Steve lent me the demo a few
weeks back, and I just had to have it.... Just a note to tell you how pleased I am with
the "ED". It seems that a lot of amp companies design philosophy is to
build small amps because they think people can't afford large ones with
all the bells and whistles, hence the glut of small amps of marginal
quality. Thanks to you
guys there is now a truly high end amp in a real world size and weight
with out a lot of jive so called features. Congradulations on killer
product.
It's just the perfect small club amp that
allows me to get great singing lead tones at moderate volume levels.
The 14-watts is PLENTY loud enough. I can get a fine clean rhythm sound
so easily by just backing off the guitar's volume control...
Hi, just purchased one of your amps after
falling in love with it. Never heard anything with this sound quality
in such a small package! Looks vintage but w/o the hassle of ever
having to fix it. Built like a Mercedes. You sure it wasn't made in
Germany? This amp just surpasses, no scratch that, raises the level at
which amplifiers and combos must be manufactured. Thanks.
I have really come to respect the gain boost
setup. It really is very flexible. I'm surprised no one else has done
it this way. Much more flexible than a channel switching amp. With a
properly set up volume control on the guitar, you can work wonders with
the switching options!
I plugged in my guitar and then played for five hours straight!
... The Edward amp has restored my faith in
playing the electric again. (It wasnt even a year ago that I was
thinking I was going to give up on the electric and play only the
acoustic guitar. That has now changed)... I am very pleased with the
amp. It looks cool and sounds great. I was really surprised at how
quiet the amp is. When you crank it up, it doesn't have that annoying
hiss that seems to be so common with other amps that I have played. My
band members will love that. I just put some new strings on my guitars
last night and they sounded great. You were right, it was worth the
wait. Thanks a lot.
...... very, very smooth on the clean side. No
harsh notes and is sensitive to pick attack.... I never liked reverb
with distortion but this is a different story. I
have a boss dd3 and no need for it. Best reverb I've ever heard. All in
all this is the best amp I've ever owned, hands down. Now I don't need
to search and trade and all that shit anymore (yee-haw!).
